Wednesday, I got an e-mail from Da Vinci's Notebook that had their upcoming schedule. Lo and behold, their schedule said they were playing at Hamilton College, just a little ways east of Rochester, near Utica. Friday night, 2 hours away, I figured that there wouldn't be too much trouble getting people togethter for a Friday Night Road Trip.
Boy, was I wrong.
Too many people have Friday night things going on at RIT this quarter.
To make a long story short, we left Rochester at 6:00 for an 8 PM show which Mapquest said would take 2 hours+ to travel to.
Thankfully, Mapquest seems to overestimate time by a few minutes, and after walking around aimlessley on the unfamiliar campus, we found the events barn and got to see the Man Band in person.
Great show, I got to talk to some of the DVNLads after the show, and have them sign a christmas/new apartment warming gift for my friend Carey.
The ride home was pretty uneventful, except for the CD player in my car overheating and being pretty much unable to play my CD's. I must remember to get a new car soon when I have the money (much less a job).
The Sabres also beat the Rangers Friday night, to go on a 2 game winning streak, their first since the first two games of the season.
Saturday was more of the same, running around like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to get ready for the David Wilcox concert. That of course meant getting cookies from The Little Bakery, lunch, vegetable oil to make brownies with, then actually making brownies, shopping for foodstuffs, making coffee, selling cookies... and so much more. Had a good night of it too.
After that, it was time to come home, watch the Sabres game, which they won, and then get the shocking news that RIT lost to Manhattanville. According to my friend

2 steps forward, 2 steps back, and here I am right back where I started the weekend.
