Worked way too late last night getting music ready on my laptop for the womens hockey game this evening. After going to bed closer to 4 AM, and waking up around 10, It's all good.
I made my way over to Rochester to have lunch with a friend who I haven't seen in ages. She's moving off to South Dakotah sometime this summer. *sigh*
After that, I made a trip to Record Archive on East Ave. I browsed through the used CD bins, and made some finds of some real gems. Christine Lavin's latest was in there (Merry Christmas, Mom!), as well as The Mammals latest, a "Best Of" The Arrogant Worms CD, an unopened Stephen Fearing CD, and a Luka Bloom CD. I also got lucky and found the new MC Lars disc (EP) on sale for $6.99 (Less than Amazon! Record Archive Man be praised! Too bad I missed their buy-one-get-one-free sale!) Oh, there's also a copy of Seth Horan's "notwithstanding" that's just waiting to be rescued for $5.
Irony of the day: Gordon Lightfoot filed under "Used Americana" at Recod Archive. I guess they're using a pretty broad definition of Americana. (But, then it'd be like Canadianacana, and that's just too many letters for a sign.)
As for the hockey wgame? Well, the lady tigers were outmached and outgunned, and lost 6-1. But, I did get to use the laptop for the first time to do the music. Plus, I got to watch the womens team do warmups... in just their warmup clothes.
Funny lines of the night:
Komey: "Too many women!" [on the ice]
*pause*
Komey: "Boy, you'd think that wouldn't be a problem we'd complain about at RIT?"
